Making My Final Character

I started by removing my scar from my mould by using powder and a soft brush gently easy it of the mould.

i then covered the inside of my scar with adhesive and also the place on the body were i wanted the scar was also covered on adhesive i had to wait till both sections were tacky enough to stick down properly i then applied it to the face and waited for it to fully dry.

I used alcohol and a cotton bud to remove and neaten up the edges 

I then covered the edges with foundation and slightly coloured the the inside of the scar with a bit of light pink and applied red lipstick on her lips

The pros and cons

Pros: i love the way the mould came out it was shaped exactly ow i wanted it 

Cons: the colouring of the overall piece was not the same as her skin tone do it looks slightly obvious and also i could have blended the edges much much more.

I began with measuring out superbolder and alcohol with a proportion of 1:2

before applying a layer of this over my silicone mould i sprayed my mould with petrol ease to help when i have to remove my final piece from my negative mould.

After i covered a layer of my mould in supermbolder and alchhol i allowed it to dry completly 

i then measured 7g or silicone A and the same with silicone B i then added 16g of deadner

and the right colour pigment and mixed thoroughly.

i made sure i tried to remove as much as the air bubbles as i could before pouring onto my my mould.

I then spread evenly onto my mould  and let it dry

Silicone Mould

making the mould for my scar had more to it than i ever imagined 

i started if by measuring two different types of silicone into a cup on a scale.

first was silicone A (making sure i was wearing fresh gloves and a clean wooden tool each time i used to two different silicone so i do not contaminate either one) i measured 15g of this into a cup and did the same with silicone B and mixed thoroughly together. I then poured the silicone onto my mould which had been previously secured but hot glue and a cup to no silicone escapes.

i waited for it to dry completely the removed it.

Creating my scar

I started of with a medium size ball size of clay i began to smooth it out on a piece of plastic,

 Then with my sculpting tools i began to create my wound trying to create texture withing the clay using my tools and making sure all my edges were smooth out.

Thinking anatomically

when designing the ideas for my scar I had to think about where its placed and how it would heal anatomically, 

Would the scar sink into the face or protrude out?, where in the face has the most fat and muscle?. 

I had to take all this into considerations so that the wound makes sense.

  i wanted my scar to sink in to the face so i decided to go with the idea of putting the scar on the cheek as that is where the most muscle and fat are based on the face.

Designing My Scar

I started designing my face charts relating them to my story i did not want my story to be extreme so my story a few years ago a bar waitress got caught up in a drunken brawl and her face got slashed by a small pocket knife but know its all healed up and scared over

in my face charts i placed the scars in different places around the face

this first one crosses over the bridge of the nose


The second one with scar starting from the top of the cheek bone all he way down


and the third from the corner of the mouth to the middle of the cheek

My Chosen Scar!

For my wound i am doing scars researching scars is not as easy as i thought it would be because there are thousands of different types of scars caused by different things so i had to narrow it down by what my characters story is and how the scar happened i decided to go with an old stab wound that has heeled and scared over the face from the mouth going up the cheek .
I remembered seeing this type of wound on a character called Chibs in a TV show called Sons of anarchy.

the scar on his check is actually real caused by being stabbed in the face outside a bar which is the exact type of look i wanted
research what would cause a scar like this. this is caused by more of a slash or a knife rather than a direct stab.
I looked at more pictures of slash woundd for inspiration
