Final Hybrid

creating my final hybrid did not turn out how i wanted it to, the ends of the thorns snapped of when i was removing it from the negative piece so it did not look much like thorns which i was very disappointed about but i tried to make do and step up on the paint job so it looked a bit better.
i wanted all the colours i used to be earthy colours like browns and creams because were this animals habitat it is normally slighly dry and earthy so i kept with that colour scheme.

atomically correct

i chose to place my mould on the forehead of the model because that has less fat on it then anywhere else on the face so it would look goof coming out of the face rather than if i did it on the cheeks it would protrude as much than it would on the forehead.

Silicone Mould

making my silicone mould was different from the first mould i did when making my scar this piece was much deeper so i had to add 2x more then i did before.

Moulding

Creating my mould i had to know exactly were i was going to place my piece and how big or small i wanted it to be and how it would fit on the model so i decided i wanted the thorns to be placed over one side of my models forehead going down

The story!

when creating my hybrid  for my brave new world of course there has to be a story of how they got this way.

echinda was the last surviving mammal on this earth and human beings were close to extinction so they had to create a something as close to a human being as they could using mammal DNA and as echinda are 1 of the only 2 mammals that lay eggs they stored dna from an echidna egg to create the ultimate human hybrid

Chosen Theme

After researching different animals i decided to go with an animal with thorns i started looking at hedge hogs then i expanded my search into different animals with different colour and shaped thorns then one that caught my eye the most was the echidna
i chose this certain animal because the thorns are more defined and i like the blend of colours within them.

Hybrid

When thinking of ideas for my hybrid i first thought of what i wanted it to be based on i knew i wanted it to have some kind of an animal theme so i started looking at different animals and species , looking in detail of there skin pattern how they live and what conditions they live in

first i looked at fish scales because they are very intricate and detailed
and an underwater theme would be a interesting design

the next was snake skin, if i was going to do snake skin i would have to do more research because there are thousands of different patterned skins and all are different according to wherever they live whether is cold or hot conditions.
the last one that caught my eye was the hedge hog because of the thorns would be a fun element to try and work with.
